The Board of Trustees meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:15 PM in the activities room of the church.

Committees
Commitees of volunteers do the work of the congregation on a day-to-day basis. Newcomers, whether members or friends, are welcome to volunteer for a specific task or to serve as a committee member. Areas where help is especially needed are noted on the list, but no door is closed! To volunteer, speak with any committee member, or contact the Board President or the Minister, Rev. Jennifer Brooks.

Annual Giving Campaign 2008

Buildings and Grounds

Care Network
Rev. Jennifer Brooks, Patrick Beaugard, Tamzin Hutchinson, Bob Lehman, Pete Sawyer, Donna Forsgren, Joan Ottinger, Sissy Girard Volunteers are needed on occasion to drive, visit the homebound, make meals, make minor repairs. Please let the Minister know if you are interested.

Finance
Chris Lohmann (Chair/Board Liaison), Kevin Murtagh (Treasurer), Toby Greenberg (two new members needed).

Fundraising
At the moment this committee is merely a gleam in the congregation's eye. Volunteers are needed to create innovative fundraising events that reach out to the broader community.

Hospitality
Elaine Flynn (Board Liaison), Brian Girard, Sissy Girard. Volunteers needed weekly to prepare fair trade coffee (lemonade and iced tea in the summer) and set out cookies or other snacks.

Lifespan Education
Joan Ottinger (Chair), Sissy Girard, Kevin Murtagh (Board Liaison), Jean Scott Murtagh, Sally Ure (ex officio), Lizie Hagenstein (ex officio), Rev. Brooks (ex officio). Currently recruiting two new members; volunteers please get in touch with Joan Ottinger or Rev. Brooks.

Membership
Gretchen Anderson (Board Secretary), Debby Merritt. This committee attempts to keep track of whether people are members, associate members (members who have a primary affiliation with an off-island congregation), or friends who are not members but are involved with the congregation and its programs. To make a correction in your name, address, phone number, or email as listed in the 2007 congregational directory, please call the Church Office.

Newsletter and Communications
Les Ottinger (Editor); Linda Sonnenstine (Associate Editor); Folders: Larry Miller, Maryjane Halliday, Debby Merritt, Joan Ottinger, Gretchen Anderson, Brian Girard, Sissy Girard (other volunteers welcome to contribute articles and to fold the newsletter for mailing). It's fun to fold! New folders welcome. The 20th of the month is usually the deadline for submissions; call the Church Office near that date to find out what day the folding will take place; usually occurs at 10 am on a weekday morning soon after the 20th.

South Church Preservation Fund (SCPF) The SCPF is a separate 501(c)(3) organization for fund-raising to support restoration and preservation of the historic building.
