Committees
Commitees of volunteers do the work of the congregation on a day-to-day basis. Newcomers, whether members or friends, are welcome to volunteer for a specific task or to serve as a committee member. Areas where help is especially needed are noted on the list, but no door is closed! To volunteer, speak with any committee member, or contact the Board President or the Minister, Rev. Jennifer Brooks. Most committee reports are in our monthly newsletters.

Care Network

Clerk’s Committee
This committee attempts to keep track of active members, whether “associate” (members who have a primary affiliation with an off-island congregation) or “regular” (members whose primary affiliation is with Nantucket’s UU congregation). Fundraising
At the moment this committee is merely a gleam in the congregation's eye. Volunteers are needed to create innovative fundraising events that reach out to the broader community.
Greeters & Welcoming
David Hall (Coordinator & Board Liaison). Each Sunday morning ushers greet, distribute hymnals, and collect the offering. To volunteer, sign up on the clipboard on the literature table, call the office, or speak to David (who can be found greeting most Sunday mornings) or to any usher. Greeting is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for families and newcomers.
Hospitality
Our congregation practices the welcoming tradition of hospitality. Volunteers needed weekly to prepare fair trade coffee and set out cookies or other snacks. Sign up on the clipboard hanging on the kitchen door.
Lay-Led Services
The Board’s goal for 2010 is to have six lay-led services planned and presented by the congregation’s members and friends. Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to get in touch with the Minister, Rev. Jennifer Brooks, or the Board President, Craig Spery, or call or email the office to express interest.

Newsletter and Communications
All are welcome to contribute articles and to fold the newsletter for mailing. It's fun to fold! The 20th of the month is usually the deadline for submissions; call the Church Office near that date to find out what day the folding will take place. It begins at 10 am on a weekday morning soon after the 20th. Call or email the church office to get more information about submissions, or contact the Editor directly. Members:

Partner Church
This committee affirms and supports our partner church in in Kolozs, Transylvania (Romania), and its minister, Rev. David Gyero. Each year the committee plans the Hungarian Dinner. The 2010 the dinner will be held in July. Members:
