We invite you to make an investment in the Nantucket Unitarian Universalist congregation by participating in our Members Fund, as our annual pledge campaign is called.

Your tax-deductible contribution is an investment with guaranteed dividends:

  • A full-time, year-round minister leading relevant and engaging Sunday services
  • A tradition of musical excellence
  • Programs for children and youth, informed by liberal religious values
  • Pastoral support to members and outreach to the community
  • Living our seven principles and advocating for peace and justice
  • Fellowship and social gatherings with congregational friends
  • Support of the larger Unitarian Universalist religious movement
  • Presentations of concerts and lectures by progressive speakers

We are fortunate to have a separate South Church Preservation Fund to preserve the Meeting House along with the ability to share our building with other religious, civic and cultural organizations.  We are also fortunate to have our carefully and conservatively managed endowment (reserve fund) and Sanford Fund to ensure a solid financial future for the Meeting House for future generations.  The rental fees, fundraising events and investment interest all ensure that we are able to cover our basic property needs.

However, of critical importance is participation in the annual Members Fund.  Only through generous participation by all of our members and friends are we able to have flourishing ministry, music and religious education.

How much should I give?

We ask that each member or friend of the congregation make a financial commitment to the Meeting House Members Fund, whether you are a long-time member or newcomer.  We depend on participation by each individual household to support the programs and outreach of the congregation.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes, the church is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and contributions are tax deductible.  We also accept donations of stock and property, which are tax deductible at their fair market value.

Do you have a program for planned gifts and bequests?

Yes, we would be pleased to provide you with information about planning giving, which provides you an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in appreciation for the important role the Meeting House and the congregation have played in your life and that of your family.  Please contact the church office.

How can I make a Members Fund contribution or pledge?

Just fill out the online pledge form or send an e-mail note to the church office.

How can I pay my Members Fund contribution or pledge or make a special gift during the year?

Pledges can be paid by a recurring credit card charge, by check, cash or via the credit card link on the pledge form.  For more information, please contact the church office.
