CITIZEN OF THE WORLD EXPLORERS (C-WE)

The mission of the Citizen of the World Explorers Program is to guide children and youth in a supportive and affirming educational environment in keeping with Unitarian Universalist principles, exposing them to many beliefs and cultures, and encouraging them to discern what is ethical and just in life.

Children and youth begin the morning with the adult congregation at 10:45 am and enjoy a children’s story read by our C-WE Lead Teacher, Leyah Jensen, or another member of the congregation and then move to the activities room for Youth Programs at 11:00 am with trained and committed volunteers as leaders. We offer creative, hands on, artistic, engaging activities that explore our principles, world religion, ethics, generosity, social justice and some of our historic and everyday heroes. Service ends at 11:45 am and parents and children often stay to enjoy social hour and snacks together.

Leyah Jensen, our Children & Youth Program Director, is thrilled to be with us and leading our Sunday morning program. Her artistic, design, and children’s program development and teaching experience combine to make Religious Exploration both entertaining and character building. Come by and meet her one Sunday with your children. You will be dazzled!

Each week the class recites, “We are a part of the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House. We believe in an open mind, helping hands, and a loving heart.” We work on ways to help this happen.
